Tomorrow is 33 degrees, then it’s over 35 degrees for the next five days. What is everyone doing to stay cool? I think I’m going to have to find someone with a swimming pool or head down to the beach.

Maybe go watch Avatar in 3D again over the weekend too.

Got hooked up with a pool party for New Years Eve so that should be pretty awesome. Not sure I am hot enough to jump in the pool need another 90 days for P90x! Today I’m heading down to Silver Sands about 50 minutes south of Adelaide to do some fishing on a friends boat, I actually hate fishing, never catch anything whenever I go. Has anyone got any good tips? Will be interesting to see if I get anything this time.

Will probably end up doing a bit of swimming as well. There are some beaches that you can only get to by boat which sounds great.

Anyway, on North Terrace, the 2008 Adelaide Bank Festival as opening. They had closed North Terrace at 6:00pm to perpare for the grand opening at 9:00pm. We wondered over there just in time to see the extaordinary event that it was.

Mike Rann came out and did his thing welcoming everyong to the opening and how the spotlight was on Adelaide with all the Fringe and things going on at the moment. I wasn’t really paying attention to be honbest but as I was soon to learn it was the highlight of the entire event.

He left and there was some aboriginal smoke ceremony on the stage near the Big Screen TV. That was OK..

 But now, what we were here for, the spectucular opening! There were all these shipping containers stacked up and there was some American violinist playing within one of the containers, he was ok. While he was playing a group of about 7 or 8, dancers? stunt performers? acrobatics? parkour?–> regular people! started climbing up the containers and they got to the top, some fireworks went off (crappy ones) and the crowd cheered.. WHAT FOR? I could have climbed that it doesn’t deserve applause.

Then they proceeded to jump across to the different containers. A couple bothered to do some jumps, others just lowered themselves down to the next level very cautiosuly. The Advertiser described it as death defying!.. OMG hardly. They looked very amateurish, like they made it up on the spot and didn’t really know what was going on.

 WHAT A SHIT NIGHT! If you are ever asked to go see this Team Loko. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE refuse and stab the person who asked you in the eye.

It makes my mind boggle who sits there and saw this and said, yep lets get these guys in for the opening. We walked home and wished I could take those 2 hours of my life back. Anyone from Adelaide that went to this please let me apologies. I’m so sorry.
